ELEVA – Donald T. Johnson, 77, of Eleva, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Crystal Lake Manor, Strum. Donald was born October 23, 1933, in Chimney Rock Township, to Clarence and Minnie (Knudtson) Johnson. Donald married LaVonne Arneson July 3, 1957. After enlisting in the Army, Donald was stationed in Germany from 1952-1955. Donald was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an excellent marksman. Donald was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1074 for 20 years, American Legion Post 459 and Eleva-Strum Church of The Nazarene, rural Strum. Donald is survived by his wife, LaVonne, of Eleva; nine children, Melinda Agenbroad of Windsor, Colo., Jenalee (Jerry) Franzwa, Timothy (Sarita) Johnson, Mark Johnson, Lisa (Jeff) Rindal and Matthew (Becky) Johnson all of Eleva, Terri (Charles) Marble of Poplar Grove, Ill., Brenda (Scott) Kulig of Independence and Holly (Kelly) Mulhern of Osseo; two sisters, Marion Ulness of Eau Claire and Delores Cleasby of Eleva; three brothers, Norman (Kathy) Johnson and Larry Johnson both of Eleva, Gerald (June) Johnson of Strum; a sister-in-law, Lois Johnson of Strum; 30 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Marilyn Johnson; a brother Clifford Johnson; two brothers-in-law, James Cleasby and Milford Ulness; and one great-grandchild, Adin Matthew Johnson. Donald will be greatly missed by his wife LaVonne and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Eleva-Strum Church of the Nazarene, rural Strum, with Rev. Robert Elder officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in the Eleva Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Eleva and one hour prior to services at the church.
