Eleanor Sosalla

INDEPENDENCE – Eleanor M. Sosalla, 98, of Independence, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Tri-County Memorial Hospital, Whitehall. Eleanor was born February 5, 1913 in Hale Township, Trempealeau County, to Paul and Pauline (Korbel) Sylla. She married Melvin Sosalla November 17, 1931 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died June 17, 1984. Survivors include a daughter, Toni (Richard) Pampuch of Trempealeau; a son, Dale (Joan) Sosalla of Independence; four grandchildren, Jay Pampuch, Carol (Brian) Stankey, Robert (Carol) Sosalla and Polly (Tim) Berra; and 5 great-grandchildren. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband; a son, David; three brothers; and five sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
