He was born March 24, 1924 in Muskegon, Michigan to Arthur and Olga (Mathieson) Indgjer. Elsmore was raised and lived in the Eleva-Strum area nearly all his life. He married Myrtle Myren on March 30, 1944 at St. Paul's Lutheran in Strum.
