Everett "Jack" Maciosek

August 21, 1924 — September 14, 2011

Everett "Jack" Maciosek. On September 14, 2011, Jack was re-united in heaven with his treasured wife, Gladys; parents, Frances and Mike; and sister, Irene. Jack was born on August 21, 1924 in Independence, WI. He served in the Navy on the Pacific front in WWII. After the war, he settled in Minneapolis, worked for General Mills and married Gladys in 1950. Never one for the "city life", his love of the outdoors led him to move his family to Isle and open "Jacks Twin Bay Resort" on Mille Lacs Lake in 1955. Jack, along with friends, and working in conjunction with Muskies, Inc., initiated the first 2 successful plantings of muskies in Mille Lacs. Following the sale of the resort, he participated in various Mille Lacs fishing tournaments and displayed his many trophies proudly. He worked at Izatys during the summer months until his health began to decline in 2004, and moved to Maple Grove, MN where he resided the last years of his life. Along with being an accomplished fisherman and hunter, Jack enjoyed trapping and had a love for the outdoors and exploring the woods. Not to mention the love for ice cream! Jack is survived by his brother, Brother Andrew E. Marsolek, M.M. of Tampa, Fla.; four children, Mike (Kathy) of Sparks, NV; Betty (Mark) Willard of Maple Grove, MN; Tom (Cindy) of Glendale, AZ; Audrey Johnson of Champlin, MN; four grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Jake, & Kristina; and 2 great-grandchildren, Bradley and Jonathan. The funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wahkon, MN on Saturday, September 24th, with visitation at 11:00 AM, Mass at Noon and a luncheon following. Memorials are preferred.
