Pelchie Hotchkiss, 95, of Independence, died Friday, August 3, 2012 at Pigeon Falls Healthcare Center.
Pelchie was born September 15, 1916 in Independence to Michael and Victoria (Skroch) Kampa. She married R. Addison Hotchkiss August 21, 1941 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, North Creek. He died May 16, 1993.
Pal was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its Women's Organization, Rosary Society, church choir and funeral luncheon committee. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She was a member of the election board for the city of Independence.
Survivors include her four children, Ann Wiench of Mukwonago, Wis., Agnes Hotchkiss of New Berlin, Wis., Frank (Sue) Hotchkiss of Sussex, Wis., Robert Hotchkiss of Independence, Wis.; a sister, Dorothy (Henry) Hintz of Appleton, Wis.; five grandchildren, Todd (Jen) Wiench, Jill Wiench, Jodi ( Dan) Paynter, Craig Hotchkiss, Vicki (Jared) Dudzek; eight great-grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Irene, Julie and Janet Kampa.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Edmund Wiench; five brothers and four sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Timothy Oudenhoven officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Independence.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8-10 a.m. Thursday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a prayer service followed by a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
