Dominic O. Giemza, 78, of rural Arcadia, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Grand View Care Center, Blair.
Dominic was born May 29, 1934 in Arcadia Township, Trempealeau County, to Albert and Angeline (Sobotta) Giemza.
Dominic worked at Whitehall Packing Plant and then at Ettrick Sales Barn. He raised beef cattle and did custom hay cutting and raking. He belonged to the "Valley Riders".
Survivors include two brothers, Albert Giemza Jr. of Independence and Joe Giemza of Arcadia; three sisters, Delores Welciek of White Bear Lake, Minn., Romelle (Loren) Subra of Blair and Mary (David) Hestekin of Whitehall; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann, Jane and Doris Giemza all of Arcadia; special friend, Romelle Semb of Whitehall; daughter Nicole and grandson, Connor both of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews.
Dominic was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ernest and Adrian Giemza; a sister, Elizabeth Giemza in infancy and a brother-in-law, George Welciek.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, North Creek, rural Arcadia, with Rev. Amalraj Arockiam officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
