Elenor Sylla Ziegler

Elenor Sylla Ziegler, 81, of Independence, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Grace Woodlands, Eau Claire. Elenor was born February 7, 1932 in Whitehall to Joseph and Helen (Kulig) Sura. She married Lawrence Sylla June 20, 1951 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. He died September 26, 1998. She married Myron Ziegler November 11, 2001 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Elenor loved to play the accordion and spent many hours working on her family genealogy. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its women's organization and rosary society. She is survived by her husband, Myron of Independence; a son, Terry (Sarah) Sylla of Maxville, Wis.; a daughter, Shirley (Dean) Poirier of Colfax, Wis.; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Sylla of Independence; three brothers, Bernard (Darlene) Sura of Kenosha, Wis., Dennis Sura and Ernest Sura, both of Independence; six grandchildren, Joseph Platteter, Jr., Shannon (David) Killian, Janel (Jim) Dabelstein, Jessica (Kyle) Gruber, Juliann (Brent) Ford and Justine Sylla; four great-grandchildren, Cayden and Avery Faldet Platteter, Hailey and Kenzie Gruber. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence and son Stanley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
