Modesta G. Kulig

Modesta G. Kulig, 77, of Arcadia, formerly of Independence, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Benedictine Manor, Arcadia. Modesta was born April 25, 1936 in Independence, to Leon J. and Sophie (Lilla) Susa. She married Peter G. Kulig on April 25, 1966 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Modesta received her education at SS. Peter and Paul school in Independence and at Stevens Point then taught school for a number of years. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and rosary society. Survivors include her husband, Peter of Arcadia; a brother, Leon (Mary) Susa of Litchfield, Minn.; two nephews, Jerome (Fay) Susa and Mark (Cathy) Kulig; a niece, Cynthia Long and grandnieces and grandnephews. Modesta was preceded in death by her parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
