Mary Jane Tollefson

July 10, 1940 — December 31, 2013

Mary Jane (Klink) Tollefson, 73, of Osseo, died on Tuesday, December 31st in the loving presence of her family. She was born July 10th, 1940, in Arcadia, WI to Rudolph and Monica (Milek) Klink. Mary attended Catholic parochial school which instilled a deep sense of faith that she was able to draw upon when illness claimed her health. On August 25th, 1956, she married Romaine Tollefson and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage. As a couple, they became like one and spent each day together giving each other love and support. “I wouldn’t trade her for all the tea in China” was a quote Romaine said often. Mary is survived by her husband, Romaine; her five children, Bonnie (Tom) Johnson of Osseo, Randy (Kari) Tollefson of Pigeon Falls, Mark (Kelly) Tollefson of Sioux Falls, SD, Tammy (Dan) Anderson of Eau Claire, and Nancy Conrad of Rice Lake; half-siblings, Joyce Kotlarz of Arcadia, Rudy (Barb) Klink of Cochrane; and Sharon (Evarist) Schock of Arcadia; in laws, Joan Klink and Lila Klink of Arcadia; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Eunice, Marge, Phyllis, Rex and Delbert. Mary will always be remembered for her devotion to her family. Visits from her children and grandchildren were always the highlight of her day. She suffered from a disease that took over her life but was more concerned about others instead of herself. Complaints from her were few. Although she will be missed terribly, we hold onto the fact that she suffers no longer, her body is restored and her pain has ended. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will forever live in our hearts. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Elk Creek Lutheran Church, W16316 Cty Rd. OO, rural Osseo, with Rev. Terry Lorenz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.
