Ernest Waldera

Ernest Waldera, 92, of Independence, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. Ernest was born October 2, 1922 in Arcadia Township, Trempealeau County, to Vincent and Jennie (Giemza) Waldera. He married Agnes Stellar on June 25, 1946 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Ernest was a dairy farmer in Arcadia Township for 35 years and a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Agnes of Independence; three children, Elizabeth Waldera of Palmdale, Calif., Kathryn (Michael) DiSalvo of San Jose, Calif., Linus Waldera of Independence; and one grandson, Michael DiSalvo of San Jose, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Severne Waldera and five sisters, Angeline Kerline, Josephine Schwertel, Esther Pyka, Evelyn Haines and Agnes Susa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday with a rosary at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to SS.
