Debra Feuling Klimek

October 24, 1951 — September 29, 2015

Debra Feuling Klimek, 63, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Independence, Wis., passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, WI, surrounded by the love of her family. Born as the baby of the family to Daniel “Don” and Richardine (Baecker) Feuling, Debbie entered the world on October 24, 1951 in Arcadia, Wis. The Feuling family moved to Chippewa Falls where her parents established their business. After her mother’s death, Debra moved to Independence where she was raised by her special aunt and uncle, Romelle and Edward Baecker. Debbie was a graduate of Independence High School, Class of 1969, and she cherished her childhood friendships for her whole life. Debra married Kenneth J. Klimek on May 23, 1970 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Together, Deb and Ken worked hard, made a home, and raised a family. Debbie took great joy in being a mother. She was so very proud of her children, Jamie and Nicole, and of her grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Abby, Carter, and Bradley. She was excited to welcome a new grandson, “Z” (Zsolt), who will be joining Chad and Nicole from Hungary in mid-October. Debbie was always encouraging and cheering on her kids and grandkids, rarely missing a concert or sporting event. Grandma’s voice could often be heard from the bleachers cheering for her favorite athletes and letting the refs know if their calls were good or bad. Debra was a graduate of District One Technical College’s (CVTC) LPN Nursing program and took great satisfaction in helping and caring for others during her career as a nurse with Gundersen Lutheran Clinic in Independence and Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall. Debbie also was an EMT and worked with Tri-County Ambulance Service helping people in their most dire tragedies. She gave tirelessly of herself to anyone who needed help, and was happy to be a friend and caregiver to those who needed her. Debbie volunteered throughout the years for her children’s many school clubs and organizations and also served as Booster Club president. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, rosary society, and its women’s organization. Debra is survived by her husband, Kenneth J. Klimek; son, Jamie (Shana) Klimek; daughter, Nicole (Chad) Dorwin; brother, Wayne (Toots) Feuling; sister, Beverly Wild; and her five grandchildren, Austin (fiancée, Kaitlyn), Andrew, and Abigail Klimek and Bradley and Zsolt (“Z”) Dorwin, all of Chippewa Falls, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, and those who were fortunate to call her “friend”. Grandma Debbie was welcomed into Heaven by two precious grandsons, Carter Michael and Jacob Gabriel Dorwin. She was also reunited in Heaven with her mom and dad; three sisters, Wynell Feuling, Yvonne Ginther, and Darlene Adams; brother, Ronald Feuling; and special aunt and uncle, Romelle and Edward Baecker. Debbie and her family thank the countless staff members at Sacred Heart Hospital who cared for Deb and treated her with dignity, respect, and kindness over the last five years. We extend special thanks to Dr. Sabbagh, Dr. Maddikunta, and Dr. Caporusso for the dedicated care they gave Debbie, for seeing the person behind the patient, and for going the extra mile to give us the extra years with her. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 3, 2015 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School Gymnasium, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, with a prayer service at 7:30 pm, followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the school on Saturday.
