Steven R. Matchey

Steven R. Matchey, 43, of Arcadia, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics, Whitehall. Steven was born August 6, 1972 in Whitehall, to Ronald and Leone (George) Matchey. He married Shannon Bisek October 11, 2003 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Steve loved to go hunting.  He enjoyed working at Gold N Plump, and formed great friendships there.  He was very proud of his little girl, Shylin, and they shared lots of giggles n snuggles.  He also enjoyed farming for many years.  He looked forward to family events and was always ready to make you laugh.  He made sure to watch as many Badger events as possible.  He will be missed very much.Survivors include his wife, Shannon and daughter, Shylin Matchey both of Arcadia; mother, Leone Olson of Independence; three sisters, Sandra Joern of West Lafayette, Ind., Susan (Neil) Pronschinske of Arcadia, and Brenda (Francis) Sonsalla of Arcadia; father and mother in-law, Richard and Renae Bisek of Arcadia; sister-in-law, Danielle (Beaver) Bisek of Arcadia; brother-in-law, Adam Bisek of Arcadia and nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Matchey; sister, Stacey Matchey; step-father, James Olson; grandparents, Carl and Mary Matchey and Norman and Lillian George. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
