FRANCES M PAMPUCH
INDEPENDENCE – Frances M. Pampuch, 96, of Independence, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home, Whitehall.
Frances was born September 17, 1913 in Hale Township, Trempealeau County, to Peter and Anna (Lisowski) Blaha. She married Michael Dejno on October 20, 1931 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence. The couple farmed in Burnside Township until his death December 31, 1953. Frances also was a cook at SS. Peter & Paul School and worked at Club Midway.
Frances married Ignatz Pampuch on May 1,1963. Following his death, she started to cook for Father Herbert Zoromski at Independence and later in the Stevens Point area.
Frances was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and rosary society.
Survivors include nine children, Marcel Dejno of Independence, Jerome Dejno of Milwaukee, Richard Dejno of Mesa, Ariz., Darlene (Anton) Sluga of Greenfield, Wis., Mary Ann (Delbert) Bloor of Muskego, Wis., Ronald (Pat) Dejno and Susan (Hensel) Lee both of New Berlin, Wis., Anthony (Kay) Dejno of Greensboro, Ga., and Michael (Jane) Dejno of Hudson, Wis.; a step-son, Lavern (Betty) Pampuch of Independence; a step-daughter, Joanne (Bernard) Wicka of Pulaski, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter.
Frances was preceded in death by her husbands; a brother, Alex Blaha and two sisters, Clara Halama and Albina Blaha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 8-10 a.m. Friday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a rosary.
