Cora Symicek, 82, of La Crosse, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home, La Crosse.
She was born July 20, 1928 in Stoddard, Wis. to Rosco and Ella Collman. Cora married Joseph J. Symicek on January 28, 1950 in La Crosse.
Cora worked at Coney Island in Bridgeview Plaza in La Crosse. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, sewing, dancing, camping and many years of traveling on the motorcycle. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph of Onalaska; five children, Raymond (Deb) of Franklin, Ky., Robert (Janet) and Rudolph both of Onalaska, Ronald (Janeen) and Carol (Gary) Gross both of La Crosse; a sister, Lorraine Lokken of La Crosse; seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Jill) Gross, Kristina Gross, Andrea (Mark) Branson, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Michael Symicek all of La Crosse and Mandy (Andy) Baker of Onalaska; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Jack Branson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
