Joseph “Joe” Pronschinske, 54, of Independence, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at Pigeon Falls Healthcare Center. Joe was born December 11, 1955 in Arcadia to Roman and Ruth (Schwertel) Pronschinske. He married Julie Olson on August 26, 1978 at Chimney Rock Lutheran Church, rural Strum. Joe owned and operated Pronschinske Excavating for 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and playing cards. Joe was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Julie, of Independence; two daughters, Jessica (Jason) Schue, of Independence and Jennifer (Jason) Halama of Whitehall; a granddaughter, Avery Halama of Whitehall; parents, Roman and Ruth Pronschinske of Arcadia; two sisters, Kathy (Bob) Kampa of Independence and Virginia (Scott) Kubis of Fountain City; three brothers, Greg (Lenice), Steve (Mary), and George (Penny) Pronschinske all of Independence. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence with Rev. Nathan Thainase officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Friday evening there will be a prayer service followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
