Alosyzy “Al” Saverynski, 88, of Independence, died Friday, August 2, 2019 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Al was born July 8, 1931 in Wisconsin to Anton and Josephine (Lisowski) Sayverynski. He married Janice Schaefer September 15, 1954 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. She died February 11, 2018 The couple liked to camp and fish. Al enjoyed spending time with his family. He liked to tinker with lawn mowers for his family and friends. He worked at Gopher Glove in Independence. He worked for Lincoln Township as a patrolman for 18 years and then foreman for 14 years until retirement. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Al is survived by his son, Peter (Shirley) Saverynski of Buffalo City; two grandchildren, Megan (Allen) Hoff of Glenwood City and Jake (fiancée, Jenna Harlow) Saverynski of Galesville; a great-grandson, Leo Hoff; nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Barb (Pete) Kupka of Arcadia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; sister, Esther Bergler; two half-brothers, Pete and Andy Siefert; two half-sisters Gertie Bautch and Josephine Hohmann. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, with services at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Independence.
