Cleo M. Pientok

Cleo M. Pientok, 77, Independence, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Cleo was born January 1, 1941 in Waumandee, Wis., to John and Clara (Sylla) Venus. She married Thomas J. Pientok, Jr.on June 23, 1962 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Waumandee. She was a teacher at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School for many years. She enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its women’s organization and the rosary society. Cleo is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Pientok, Jr. of Independence; a son, Bill (Debbie) Pientok of Holmen, Wis.; two daughters, Nancy (Dean) Suchla of Arcadia and Renee (special friend, Joe Semingson) Maier of Strum, Wis.; a brother, Kenneth (Penny) Venus of Winona, Minn.; four grandchildren, Nicole (Jesse) Benson, Maranda (friend, Josh Genz) Pientok, Mitchell (friend, Audra Waite) Pientok and Curtis Suchla. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with burial in the church cemetery.
