Dale Franson

Dale O. Franson, 78, of Strum, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, January 29, 2024, after a short battle with cancer under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Dale was born June 12, 1945, in Whitehall to Otis and Mae (Anderson) Franson. He valued hard work from an early age. He worked on the family farm and the Strum CO-OP until buying his uncle's cattle hauling business. After selling his business, he drove semi-trucks over the road and later became the manager of RediMix in Osseo, and finally finishing his working years driving school bus for Eleva-Strum Central, retiring in his early 70's. Dale was united in marriage on September 4, 1965, to Linda Mae Holstad. To their union they added two children. He and Linda enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be truly missed by his loved ones.

Dale is survived by his wife: Linda of Strum; children: Jodi (Steve) Patterson of Virginia and Jason (Laurie) Franson of Colorado; grandchildren: Ian Patterson, Hunter (Kellee) Patterson, Andrew (Shannon) Franson, Nicholas Franson, and Jayna Franson; 2 great-grandsons: Maxton and McCoy Patterson; brother: Eric (Karen) Franson of Strum; sister-in-law: Roxie (late, Jarvis) Holstad; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws: John and Pearl Holstad; brothers-in-law: Jarvis Holstad and Pat Holstad; and sister-in-law: Pam Holstad.
