Dennis P. Maule

Dennis P. Maule, 75, of Independence, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at his home. Dennis was born June 11, 1942, in Arcadia, to Peter and Mary (Gamroth) Maule. He married Rebecca Weist February 20, 1965 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Dennis worked in highway construction and later at the creamery in Arcadia. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and was an avid Badger fan. Dennis was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and rosary society. He was a member Sura-Wiersgalla American Legion Post 186, serving two terms as commander. He is survived by his wife, Becky Maule of Independence; daughter, Kim (Paul) Cassem of Holmen; son, Greg Maule of Rochester, Minn.; brother, Walter “Fox” Maule of Blair; sister, Lucille Fred of Houston, Texas; grandson, Alex Cassem of Holmen; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Maule and infant son.           Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Malaiyappan Amalanathan officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
