Dora Filla

Dora Filla , 87, of Galesville, formerly of Independence, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Marinuka Manor, Galesville. Dora was born April 18, 1934 in Appleton, Wis. She married Dominic Filla September 12, 1964 in Eau Claire. He died November 27, 1983. The couple farmed in Burnside Township, Trempealeau County, until Dominic’s death. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. Dora is survived by two sons, Henry (Noel) Filla and Paul (Lona) Filla both of Osseo; daughter, Rosemary (Robert) Gappa of Ettrick; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Steven James Filla. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, with burial in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Independence. Visitation will be held at Edison Funeral Home in Independence on Friday, from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
