Gary J. Gunderson

WHITEHALL –Gary J. Gunderson, 64, of rural Whitehall, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home. Gary was born in Whitehall on August 18, 1952 to Donald and Jeanette (Slabik) Gunderson. He married Bonnie Bautch July 15, 1972 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence. She died June 21, 2014. The couple dairy farmed in Poker Coulee for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include daughter, Mandy (Matt) Hames of Fayetteville, N. C.; two sons, Scott Gunderson and Eric (Kassundra) Gunderson both of Whitehall; mother, Jeanette Moen of Blair; brother, Randy (Mary) Gunderson of Independence; sister, Tammy (Gene) Kindschy of Whitehall; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Hames and Mitchell and Lily Gunderson. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Edison Funeral Home, Independence. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, at SS.
