Janice Saverynski

Janice Saverynski, 82, of Independence, died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Janice was born April 7, 1935 in Arcadia, to Marvel and Minnie (Schwertel) Schaefer. She married Alosyzy Saverynski September 15, 1954 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Arcadia. Janice worked at Gopher Glove and Hunter’s Specialties in Independence until retirement. She loved to read, sew, crochet and spend time with her family. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Janice is survived by her husband, Alosyzy of Independence; a son, Peter (Shirley) Saverynski of Buffalo City; a sister, Barbara (Pete) Kupka of Arcadia; two grandchildren, Megan (Allen) Hoff of Glenwood City and Jake (Jenna Harlow) Saverynski of Morris, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bob, Marcel and Raymond Schaefer and two sisters, Darlene Giemza and Joan Kotlarz. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Edison Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery on Saturday.
