Marian Pronschinske, born in 1929 to John and Anna (Kabus) Marsolek, passed away peacefully at her home on June 30, 2025 at the age of 96. Marian spent her childhood in Independence, Wisconsin, after graduating from high school she moved to Cudahy to live with her sister. She returned to Independence sometime after to reunite with Quintin Pronschinske, whom she married on June 18, 1951, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
She was a devoted farm wife, helping wherever necessary while raising seven children. Marian was a member of St. Ann’s society at OLPH church and cooked for many church festivals. A devoted Catholic, she watched 3-4 masses on TV every Sunday.
Marian enjoyed 20 years of Polka Fest at the Rochester Kahler Hotel with Quintin. She was still listening to polka music and trying to get out some final dance steps in her last month here on earth.
Marian was a skilled caregiver to numerous plants and flowers over the years; she could get just about everything to bloom. It’s been a long time since she was able to make her homemade bread and other goodies, however she still insisted on making batches of fudge in the last 6 months.

(Curt) Rotering of Waumandee, Kenny (Marj) Pronschinske of Ogden, Utah, Rollie (Roxie) Pronschinske of Arcadia, Patti (John Moravec) of Whitehall and Anita Knutson of Onalaska; a sister, Elanor Suchla of Independence; brothers-in-law, Clarence Pronschinske of Arcadia, Linus “Red” Soppa of St. Charles, MN; sisters-in-law, Tony Smieja of Mankato, MN, Lois Klimek-Deeren of Ettrick, Phyllis Pronschinske, Independence, Bernice Pronschinske, Arcadia; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
