Marion Schank

March 17, 1940 — June 25, 2025

Independence

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marion Schank, 85, who passed peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the Grandview Care Center in Blair under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Marion Servais Born March 17, 1940, in Arcadia, Wisconsin, to Louis and Theresa (Eckel) Servais, and reborn on February 14, 2007, when she received the gift of life - a liver transplant. Marion led a life defined by love, creativity, and quiet strength. Though she held many jobs throughout her years, her truest joy was found at home, surrounded by family.

Marion’s days were filled with meaningful pursuits: sewing, knitting, woodworking, baking, and puzzle-making. Each craft became more than a pastime—it became a part of her legacy. Her handiwork now lives on as cherished heirlooms, not just in form, but in spirit. Her legacy threads through time like a well-made quilt: stitched with care, shared with love, and never forgotten.

Marion is survived by her children, James (Charlene) of Bayfield, CO, Joseph (Julie) of Independence, Richard (Lisa) of Kenosha and Cheryl Padula of Whitehall; 9 grandchildren; Alexis (Kevin) Neil of Ignacio, CO, Ivy (Joshua) Dalley of Mancos, CO, Zachary Schank of Bayfield, CO, Brandon (Erica) Padula of Whitehall, WI, Brody Padula of Brice Prairie, WI, Jacob (Annemarie) Labatore of Genoa City, WI, Justin Labatore of Kenosha, WI, Kayla Schank of Eau Claire, WI, and Morgan Schank of Independence, WI; 4 great-grandchildren; James and Lillian Neil, and Winfield and Charlene Dalley, 2 sisters, Virginia Smieja of Winona, MN and Sharon (Harry) Grueneberg of Rockford, IL, brother Kenneth (Carolyn) Servais of Lewes, DE.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome in 2024; their daughter: Jean Therese; stillborn daughter; stillborn granddaughter; sisters, Phyllis Passow, Lorraine Sobotta, Shirley Suchla, and brother Gary Servais.
