Rebecca "Becky" B. Maule, 78, formerly of Independence, died on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Marinuka Manor in Galesville. Becky was born on October 16, 1943 in La Crosse to Walter and Verna (Calkins) Weist. She grew up on a farm outside of Houston, Minnesota, and went on to obtain her Registered Nursing License after high school. Becky worked as a nurse in many local hospitals and nursing homes, but spent the majority of her employment with the Trempealeau County Health Care Center, from where she retired. Becky was united in marriage to Dennis Maule on February 20, 1965 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence. Together, the couple raised two children: Greg and Kim. Becky was a born caregiver and a very devout Catholic. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul's Parish and taught confirmation classes, adult education classes, and was also a lay minister, delivering mass to homebound members. Her family and her faith were most important to Becky. When she wasn't working or volunteering her time, Becky thoroughly enjoyed traveling and taking long trips out west with Dennis. The couple enjoyed long road trips and seeing new sights. Becky also enjoyed traveling with her sister, Penny, as they traveled to Key West often. In her spare time, Becky enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, and spoiling her favorite and only grandson, Alexander. Becky loved being a grandma, especially when she was playing Yahtzee with Alex. The memories will remain in the hearts of her family forever. Becky is survived by her daughter: Kim (Paul) Cassem of Holmen; grandson: Alexander Cassem of Holmen; sister: Penny (Keith) Mathson of Greenfield, WI; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis in 2017; son: Greg in 2019; infant son, Gregory in 1970; brothers: Alan and James Weist; and niece: Sara Mathson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence, WI with Reverend George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating.
