Ruth A. Sackett, 86, of Peterborough, New Hampshire, formerly of Independence, Wisconsin died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at RiverMead in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Ruth was born June 10, 1931 in La Crosse to Roy and Leona (Boma) Collins. She married Duane H. Sackett on June 24, 1950 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Ruth was a multi-talented homemaker, gifted seamstress, artist, baker, piano player, and extensive world traveler. She loved music, figure skating, singing, and anything oriental. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Rainbow Homemakers, both in Independence. Survivors include five daughters, Kay Fitzgerald (Jimmy Fitzgerald), Barbara Baker, Lynn Moseley (Bill Moseley), Rita Jones (Bob Jones) and Duann Kovach (Jim Kovach); ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Duane H. Sackett; parents; and two sisters Edith Berry and Carol Marco. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse at 2:00 p.m. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be sent to the Rainbow Community Club Scholarship Program, P.O.
