Thomas Walter Pride, 86, of Whitehall, died Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Emplify Health by
Gundersen. Tom was born on March 31, 1940 in Eau Claire to Byron and Marion (Miller) Pride.
After finishing high school, Tom attended UW River Falls, where he earned his teaching degree.
He dedicated over 30 years to teaching in Elk Mound and Independence, inspiring countless
students with his passion for history. Tom was also a wrestling coach for 20 years and played
an active role with the Wisconsin Wrestling Association. After retiring, Tom found passion in
woodworking and painting. He dedicated 60 years of service to the Elk Rod and Gun Club.
Tom is survived by his children, Timothy of Eau Claire, WI, Troy (Kris) of Whitehall, WI, Suzanne
of Driggs, ID, and Tracy of Denver, CO; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and brother,
Douglas of Columbus, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Esprit Eugster; and brother, Duane
Pride.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation from 2-4 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2026 at Edison
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Thompson Valley Cemetery. Edison Funeral Home is assisting
the family with arrangements.
